The good weather is approaching and with it the desire to spend time away from home, either on the beach, in the mountains, in the park or on some terrace in the city. However, sometimes it happens that after meeting our partner or any friend we get there and we have no idea what to invest our time in.

To prevent this from happening we present below a large number of outdoor games to be played in pairs . Throughout the article we can find all sorts of games and activities with which to spend time with another person.

10 sets for two people

This list quotes and explains 10 games for two players . Among them we find both games for which a deck of cards or a domino will be necessary, and others in which we will only have to resort to our imagination.

1. Rummy

Rummy is a card game in which our goal is to remove all the cards from our hand as quickly as possible . We will need a standard deck of 52 cards that we can buy in any specialized card game store.

We deal between 7 and 10 cards to each player and once we have dealt the next card we place it face up, with this card we start a pile of discarded cards. The rest of the cards are placed face down.
The players have three different ways of removing the opponent’s cards: merge, lay off and discard.

  • Merge : take three or more cards from your own hand and place them face up in the middle. Cards that go in sequences or staircases (5,6,7) or in groups (8,8,8) can be merged.
  • Dismiss : adding a card or cards from one’s own hand to a merger of one’s own or the opponent’s.
  • Discard : can only be done at the end of each turn, by placing the remaining cards on the discard pile.

In each hand, the player has the option to draw a card from the discard pile or from the face down pile. In addition, when he picks it up, he can decide whether or not to use it. If it doesn’t work, the player must leave it face down and pass the turn to the opponent.

The game continues until one of you runs out of cards and wins the game.

2. The broom

The broom is another card game in which the player who manages to score 15 points before the opponent is the winner.

To do this, 3 cards are dealt to each player, and then 4 cards are placed face up on the table. Each card has a different value, so the numbered cards add up to their own value while the rest add up to the following scores:

  • Sota : 8 points
  • Horse : 9 points
  • King : 10 points

In addition, a player who holds a card with the number 7 on it may add one more point. In each turn the player can only use one card from his hand, thus remaining two cards for the next and one for the next until he runs out of cards.

When they run out of cards, three more are dealt to each player and so on until the deck is finished.

Together with the card used in the hand, the card or cards that you want to add up to 15 are chosen from the center and placed face down in a pile in front of the player, since they will be used to make the count.

In the last hand, the player must take the remaining cards on the table (if any).

Finally, the players will count the “brooms” (groups with scores of 15) that each player has made. Whoever has the most brooms will be the winner of the game.

3. Domino for two

This is a variant for two of the game of dominoes . The basic aims of the game are the same (running out of dominoes) but the game is played in a different way.
Each player collects six pieces placed face down and throws the one with the double six first or, failing that, the largest double. This player will place a chip that matches the points of the chip on the table; if he has none he can draw from the pile until he gets a matching chip.

The game is over when one of the two players has placed all his chips on the table, or when neither of them can shoot anymore.

4. Associate words

To play this game all you need is your imagination . In this game a player has to choose a word at random and verbalize it. The second player must then mentally search for a word that starts with the same syllable as the one that ends with the previous one.

A maximum time will be established to think about the word and the one who consumes all this time without verbalizing a correct word will lose it.

5. Associate songs

The game is a variant of the previous game, but using songs instead of just words . One player has to sing a piece of the first song that comes to mind, and the next player has to sing another one whose first word matches the last of the previous one.

In the same way, a time for thinking is established and the one who exceeds this time loses.

6. Two Lies, One Truth

In this conversation game it also helps to get to know the other person better . In it, one of the players will make three statements but only one of them must be true. The other player must guess which one is true and then it is up to the other player to verbalize the statements.

A series of “hands” can be set to win and whoever wins the most hands wins the game.

7. Pulse

This famous game consists of a physical competition between two people . In it, each player sits on the side of a table, both of them must put one arm on the table and hold firmly the hand of the competitor.

Once the order is given to start the competition, each player must push to his side without moving his elbow on the table. The winner is the one who gets his opponent’s hand to touch the weight.

8. What do you prefer?

In this conversation game there are no winners, except the one who manages to elaborate the most original questions . In this game, each player must present two radically different situations of similar weight or importance.

The key to the game is to find out how far the themes and even the tone of the questions take us. Some examples are:

  • What do you prefer: to travel around the world but never being able to return to your country or never leaving your country?
  • Always know when a person is lying to you or that no one can ever know when you are lying?
  • Win 10,000 euros right now or win 100,000 euros in 10 years?

9. Outline messages

In this game there are neither winners nor losers . In this game one of the participants must think of a message with several words that he wants to convey to the second player. The other participant then sits in front of the other player’s back.

You must then write the message or the word letter by letter on the back of the other player, who can only guess the message once it is complete.

10. Making up stories

In this last game the participants must observe the people and situations around them . Each of the players must make up a story related to one of the people around them, explaining what they think is happening or could happen.

Although the one to whom the most original story is attributed will win, it must be relatively consistent with what is happening in reality.
