Centro TAP was born in 2009 by the hand of its founders Patricia Gutiérrez Albaladejo and Patricia Sánchez Merino with the firm purpose of accompanying people to achieve their welfare goals. The professionalism, the constancy, the analysis for the detection of needs and the enthusiasm for the profession has allowed them to grow in these 10 years.

They have created a multidisciplinary team made up of psychologists, sexologists, psychiatrists and teachers, who intervene in scientifically proven therapies, thus achieving high quality service in each case. The individualization of each process is for Centro TAP one of the greatest guarantees for success.

How does the TAP Center team work?

The team complements each other in order to jointly and coordinatedly address all the needs that patients may present, thus facilitating therapeutic intervention in a comprehensive manner and in a single environment.

The main objective throughout these years of experience in Madrid (and outside the community thanks to its on-line therapies) has been to build a methodology of guaranteed intervention for its patients , making the trust they place in the team rewarded with therapeutic success. Its main function is to accompany its patients in the analysis of difficulties and the therapeutic line to be followed, and the incorporation of regulatory strategies, skills and competencies for the resolution of their conflicts and tools for active identification and coping.

As therapists, the members of the team have the objective of facilitating the keys to a global improvement of the person, making their patients the promoters of their own change , which they will achieve through the tools, resources and strategies acquired throughout the therapeutic process.

In Centro TAP they understand that psychology is a fundamental piece to reach a concept of Integral Health , since only in this way the complete development of the human being is facilitated and the adequate adaptation of the same one to its different contexts of interaction and development. They use the most advanced techniques to carry out a correct evaluation, diagnosis, intervention and treatment, taking into account the different difficulties presented by the patients in consultation.

As it is sometimes necessary to complement psychological intervention with pharmacological treatment, has a medical psychiatrist on the team , with whom they work in a coordinated manner, to guarantee the best results.

Their services in the field of psychology are oriented to accompany the development in all stages of people’s lives, that is why they work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families and the elderly.

Areas of psychological intervention

The work with families and children is fundamental for Centro TAP. A fundamental part of its work is the area of pedagogy , where the premise is that learning is not just reproducing or imitating, it is a process in which children build, creating from what they have learned. It is an innate capacity in human beings, and each and every one of us is provided with it; we only need to know how to use it properly to obtain the results we expect.

In the case of those children who present difficulties at school, they have techniques, strategies and resources to improve the learning processes that will facilitate their development in their role as students.

In addition, TAP Center seeks not only intervention when there is already a difficulty, but also work from the prevention of psychological problems in later stages of development through a unique program for parents to feel the peace of mind of doing what is best for your baby.

The same applies to the area of sexology, and its team of professionals specialized in individual and couple work, where they understand that there is no other way of working on sexuality than by giving room to all sexualities, regardless of age, sex or orientation of desire.

The PAPMI® initiative

The PAPMI® (Parental and Infant Psychological Support Program®) is a comprehensive care service for babies from 0 to 18 months of age that promotes their emotional development so that they grow up knowing how to relate to a secure attachment.

In addition, this program offers moms and dads a support in raising their children to live this experience as unique, with keys to the correct management of babies in a period as sensitive as these first months of life.

There is an important connection between how we relate to our babies and the development of their emotional brains. The foundation of children’s relational skills is developed in the first relationships with the mother and/or father. These experiences model the architecture of the baby’s brain ; therefore, from TAP Center we explain that PAPMI® fulfills such an important function in the first 1000 days of its growth.

Courses and training

In addition, this team of professionals believes in the development of people based on experience and learning. That is why Centro TAP organizes training lines that are developed in its own center and in collaboration with other public and private entities.

They develop exclusively for the centre a continuous training plan throughout the year with workshops for the development of Emotional Intelligence in parents and for children , of promotion of a healthy self-esteem, of development of communication skills, and of Mindfulness.

The team teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Psychology at different universities in the CAM . They also provide training in companies, parenting schools and educational centres, training parents, students and teachers. For many years, they have been a centre for university practice training new psychologists, and they also supervise the clinical intervention of those professionals who, despite being experienced, rely on their knowledge and experience.
